Well, I fired up the old copy of CoD4 tonight and played a little multiplayer, I'm a little rusty since I haven't played it in a year but I still pwned pretty well...and that's with my bad internet right now (apparently one of the main lines what cut in my city).  Anyways, who all has CoD4?  I want to try and guage how popular it is/was/still might be...

On average 14,000 people play COD4 at a given time compared to COD W@W's 3,000.

i just checked xfire's games playtimes, these are the numbers at the time im posting this:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare  has 3,257,038 minutes played in the last 24hours
Call of Duty: World at War has 250,875  minutes played.

Now, thats only people playing those games while logged on xfire, but still, shows their popularity to some extent.
I have cod4, ill have to install it thought because i just reformatted.

Well start installing it, I probably won't be able to play until Sunday though.  That IP address I gave to ping for the new datacenter is a CoD4 server, try playing on it and see how it runs.

After we get the server to the new datacenter, I believe we will put up a CoD4 server again.

I've just STARTED playing '4 the last few days.

I got both 4 and 5 when I got a new vid card recently, and loaded them both, played the campaigns, then tried the multiplayer.

For some reason, I just liked playing 5 better, and ended up there (and....HERE) but I decided to start 4 up again this weekend to look for some of the old Halo players I've now left behind, who have been mostly on 4.

Now that I've been working in both, I can tell you the one thing I don't like about 4 is the abundance of maps in blown up middle eastern cities (I know, Duh, that's where the conflict is these days, gut they give me the creeps).  I find these tight little city maps end up a frag-fest in FFA, which I've been playing to rank up faster, and they have too many spawn points - I keep spawning right next to an enemy.  But the couple of larger maps that take place in a more rural setting are much more enjoyable.  And of course, there's the problem with having to learn these new maps all over from fresh.

I'm Wingman in CoD4 and I'm mostly in the grumpy gamers server.
