So I went to change the video settings since the game was a bit blurry so I adjust the resolution.  MW2 didnt like that so it crashed.

I restart the game in safe mode and do optimal settings since the game was huge and I am not blind.  it crashes again.  I can no longer play the game because it broke.  I get an error message saying that I need to read the DirectX readme file.  Too bad the game never came with the file.  I updated my DirectX drivers and still get the error.  MW2 was a waste of $60.

IdiotWard needs to stop making games and remove themselves from the gaming community.  I am being serious when I say that once I hit level 70 I am through playing the game.  I will go back to W@W.

Is your graphic's driver up to date? If so, in Steam, right click on MW2 and select "Create desktop shortcut". Next, right click on the desktop shortcut and select "Properties". Click on the Compatibility tab on the top of the properties window and select, under Display settings, "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution".

    See if that works.

Didn't work.  I may just uninstall and put the game away.

So when exactly does it crash, when you are trying to click "find game"?  Or when you try to start it up?  You may need to find the actual mp exe file, right click on it and in the launch string at the end put "-dxlevel 91"

You might also try this graphics driver if you have an Nvidia graphics card.  It's beta but it just came out today so it might fix your issues.

Actually, go here and fill out the info based on what you have, so you get the correct version.

What does the error message exactly say? Odds are many people are having the same problem. Google search it and see what it comes up with.

    Try System Restore.

If you get no where, reinstall it.
