Just eight days after Google (GOOG) opened its online store to sell the new Nexus One smartphone directly to customers, its support forums have been overloaded with complaints on a variety of issues. They stem from coverage and delivery problems, network compatibility, dropped calls and operation woes. Another issue that popped up this week: the fine-print in the contract. The early-termination fee (standard with wireless carriers) is a double-whammy for consumers, at a whopping $550 for Nexus One. Google charges a $350 fee if you opt out of the contract within the first four months of the contract, and T-Mobile hits you for an additional $200 if you disconnect early. No, I'm calling somebody out, though I forgot who it was, I think maybe Geek Guy. He's a Hexus fan boi and I told him it was going to be junk before it even came out because there hasn't been enough testing on it...sure enough I was right.

Hype for that phone was waaay overboard, its really not much more special than what's already on the market. I was considering a pre, but went with the HTC hero instead, and its great. In fact, thats what I'm typing this on right now!

I'm holding out to see what Apple comes out with this summer. Rumors are that the Apple/AT&T contract is up this year and that they will be releasing a CDMA compatible phone to use on Verizon.

No need to hold out, Verizon decided to drop the Apple thing, apparently Apple was not negotiating just demanding what they wanted. However, the specs on the new iPhone 4G are out, it will have a dual core processor in it, a new GPU to allow for much higher resolution images, removable battery, and maybe one or two other things that I can't remember right now.

Oh yeah, here's what it's got...oh yeah, it's coming out in April or May of this year.
In addition to the OLED screen and removable battery, the new iPhone 4G will sport dual-core processors, and an advanced graphics chip that can deliver higher video resolutions. There's also indication that the new model will feature a better camera for "better 'still' images when taking pictures."

Where did you get that info? I have been researching this heavily over the past couple of weeks, and have seen nothing that is factual..only rumors. One being that Apple and Verizon have parted ways.

It does mention the US getting one, but says, "If there is indeed a new iPhone 4G heading to the market in June, we're betting that AT&T won't be the happy recipient here in the States. ...we're betting Verizon Wireless will get this model, an advanced version of the iPhone (3GS) currently offered by its rival."
