So I'm sure some of you were wondering why I wasn't on gaming last night. Yesterday afternoon Futuremark (you know 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark06) came out with new updated files for ALL of their products including: 3DMark Vantage, 3DMark06, 3DMark05, 3DMark03, PCMark Vantage, PCMark05 so I was downloading all of the full versions and patches and uploading them to the webserver.
The included updates improve system hardware detection, fix several issues and also add improved GPU clock speed detection. For 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark06 the update makes both benchmarks fully compatible with the latest multicore processors. In addition, 3DMark Vantage now has significantly faster loading times.
The update does not affect core benchmark functionality and the basis for all scores remains unchanged. The updates can be found on the BPN website @

All web services will continue supporting the older versions, but support may be phased out at a later date, so they'd like to get this update out to as many users as possible.
On other Futuremark related developments, I can tell you at this time that they are hard at work on a new version of 3DMark for DirectX 11 (with all new graphics and CPU tests) and also a new version of PCMark for Windows 7. Final product names or launch dates are not set at this time.
