a rip off in my opinion.

http://i.engadget.com/2010/01/27/live-from-the-apple-tablet-latest-creation-event/?sort=oldest&refresh=0

$500 for the most basic model up to $700 for a 1Ghz processor and 64MB (edit: 64GB) of Flash Storage???  Add another $130 for 3G, plus the cost of a keyboard, case, whatever, and you could just have a Macbook or two PC laptops.  Seems to me it should totally flop, but there are too many blindly faithful Apple fans who would buy a dog turd for $300 as long as it's painted white and has a bitten apple stamped onto it.

Lol, 64MB Flash storage, it's actually 64GB.

Anyways, I classify Mac users as "Rebels". (no offense to Mac users here)

I don't see why people hate Windows. It's a great OS. And saying that Macs are better for Photoshop: that's a total lie. Mine runs great.

Apple has always been the system of choice for artists for some reason.  I don't know enough to say why they are or are not better.  I do know, though, that when I went to art school, we did all of our 3D modelling and industrial design work on PC while my roommates in graphic arts did their stuff on Macs.  A good friend of mine who is a professional freelance artist actually switched from Apple to PC several years ago claiming that there was no real difference for him except for the expense.  There are definitely those hipsters out there who want to have Apple for no reason other than using the brand name to feel hip and cool.  However, some developer friends of mine have Macs and love them.  I'm sure there's something to it.

not to mention, it cant multitask.  no listening to music while browsing, no nothin.  Personally, i think tablet PC's in general are....idk....unneeded?  They arent as powerful as a laptop and less mobile than a cell phone, so i dont really see the point.  Im sure theres a market for them out there somewhere, but this thing wont revolutionize the way we live like some people were stating.

I totally agree but you know the kids these days - they are buying all these gadgets up like candy with Mom and Dad's help!  Seems every time I turn around, one of my two older kids has a new phone or some gadget in their pocket.

Totally agreed.  It's like it's got all the disadvantages of both (larger size like a laptop with the storage capacity of a phone) with none of the benefits.  I am really confused on how this thing is useful or even marketable (aside from the brand's loyalists).

LOL...even cell phones can multitask these days.  Now I'm just waiting for Grill to throw the "Rock Trash" stamp of disapproval on it.

This may contain language not suitable for children so watch at your own risk.  Still funny to see.

I've been looking to build or buy a new machine for recording and considered a new Mac, but I don't want to be locked into buying all Apple stuff from then on (plus I the local retailer here is selling i7 860s and 920s for $200).  As for the iPad..not a chance.

Would this machine be strictly for recording or would you want to use it for gaming too?  If so not many games are Mac compatible...
