I have the game installed and already having issues.  Firstly, am I wrong in thinking there was a single player mission available?  There is none avail in my copy, only multi-player, which asks me for the key (that I applied for at EA.com) but apparently everyone doesn't get a key???  If that is the case that is utterly stupid imo.    Angry

The other issue is, the main menu is weird...kind of hard to explain but it almost like the GUI is offset to the mouse pointer.  For example, if I want to manipulate one of the menus, nothing happens when I put the mouse cursor over it but if I move my mouse waaaay right (and nowhere near a menu icon) the icon lights up.

No, there were never any plans for them to have anything besides multiplayer in the beta.  Single player won't be released until final release.  As for the key, typically steam pops up a little box on first load with the key...

Yes, the key inevitably popped up upon launch, but not on the first several tries....guess I was too impatient   angel  Still can't play due to the mouse issue.  I'm just wondering if it a local issue or a glitch or an incompatibility problem with my G9 logitech mouse.  I realize it's beta but I'm a lil put out and I haven't even played yet!  If anyone else has this issue, please let me know - thanks!

I was not aware the beta was only multi - oh well. Better than nothing.

Make sure you are running it in full screen.  Try restarting your computer also.  It's not a mouse issue, it's that the main menu isn't recognizing the resolution you are running at.

Thanks Schlup - it is in fullscreen and I rebooted with same outcome.  You know, I can't think of one EA game I've had that didn't do strange things and this game is no exception so far.

About the resolution - It seemed to be fine until I changed it;  I changed it back to default and still no change.

Turns out it was because I had visual impaired enabled.  The text is so small on my tv so set the text magnifier on (was set at 150%).  Tried the game and, voila!  Cheesy

Yeah, this is probably one of the worst betas I've ever seen and I've been part of ALOT of betas.  Typically they work out these "basic" issues before they roll out the game in a public beta.  The private beta or dev testing should have fixed all this stuff.  Hopefully they will fix these issues pretty quick and get it going but as of right now this game is rock trash!

P.S. The friends system doesn't work.  Steam overlay doesn't work.  Game crashes when trying to go to server browser.  Can't assign the 'Delete' key to any bind of gameplay.  Join Now doesn't work and just keeps timing out.  Major lag issues (that I hear of) once people do get in game and playing.

Ditto here.  I'm really disappointed myself.  Absolutely agree that the basics should work without a flaw.  I saw at the bottom of the screen they were aware of browser crashes; here I was thinking, "oh, must have a built in browser or something - duh! then I clicked the "find servers" and down she went.

I'd say for the pre-launch beta run, so far it is two thumbs, and two big toes DOWN! I'm not completely unreasonable, I would expect there may be a few network issues as everyone tries at once but holy smokes, tried for 30min and no luck.

I also noticed (at least on my machine) if you have an active window in the background (IE someone pings on steam chat) you don't have mouse control in the game.  I had to alt-esc out, and close the chat window to get mouse contral back in the game.  Maybe it will get a bit better in the next few days.  Too bad we couldn't have our own server going.

They should have at least included a single player map or private match creating so we could at least see how the game runs and not have to worry about finding a multiplayer game >.<

finally got in a game.  Fps was suprisingly good, i was expecting it to be a lot worse.  As for the lag, i didnt see too much in the server i was in.  I was guessing my ping was around 90 or 100.  The game itself was really fun. Reminded me a lot of BF2, just flashier.  I even got 2 defibrillator kills Cheesy

My main concern was the extreme delay in the friends list and the fact you had to relog in order to update your friends list.  Lag really needs to be fixed, but I haven't had any major issues except when starting the match in a transport or tank.
I accepted something in game that instantly locked the game up and had to restart it.
My first time joining a game I could not move at all.  As in the keyboard was unresponsive and had to commit suicide in order for the game to operate properly.

Once I finally got connected everything seemed fine.  I did notice some strange jerking / lag and once the game crashed and booted me out to the desktop (not sure if it was the game or my PC).  And what luck that when I did rejoin I connected up with some of you guys!!  I meant to join you in TS but I was so happy I was connected, I was afraid to alt-esc out in fear of something happening!

I'll give it a try again today and see but so far, I like the game; that map is huge!

For sure! For the short time I played, I loved what I saw!  The sounds are fabulous and well as the graphics.  Obviously will need to play more to get a better feel for the game, then I can form an accurate opinion of the game.

I did notice this which I am 100% happy about.  Base rape is next to impossible since that is an out-of-bouds area for opposing team members and spawn camping is basically removed from game since you spawn on your teammates rather than a UAV or flag.
However, with the release of the official game, this might change.  I hope not.

Found a glitch with the second snipe rifle unlock.  The scope sways, but the crosshairs remain in the center so aiming is like holding the rifle steady.

Nope.  The first rifle and the third sniper rifle all sway with the crosshairs.  The second rifle crosshairs are locked and don't move.

The first recon rifle does not sway when staying scoped for long periods

I love this game even though i had a lot of lagg even when they fixed the server lagg  i still had problems from my computer and i still played the game and never got bored, now i just upgraded a couple of things  Amd phentom 2 x4 965 BE 3.4 ghz soon to be overclocked i also upgraded my psu to 700w,hardrive to 1tb, motherboard for the am3 socket and 4 gig of ddr3 ram and i am running the game on high, and the game is so smooth no lagg at all and i love the game even more, i just find it very realistic and more clan based than cod.

I logged on a couple of days ago and noticed that movement seemed slow to respond to keystrokes. Lowered my video settings and it seemed more responsive with the mouse; however, my keystrokes did nothing. I was unable to move or reload or anything using the keyboard. My mouse inputs were working correctly.

I think MW2 has better graphics and mechanics.  I'm not going to comment on the team based play until the full version is released and I can see what other multiplayer game modes there are.
