OK, so after my recent hard drive crash, I installed windows 7, and then started installing my various games (well, OK, I installed a lot of other stuff before the games, but you know....)

In all three CoD's, half-life, and Halo2, I can not get the Controls assignment to recognize my Logitech Trackman Marble Middle-Mouse-Button.  This is critical, because that's my Forward key assignment (I cant use the default W key)

I've loaded the latest Logitech Setpoint 4.83 software, and the MMB works in my browser.

Any ideas folks?

Had this issue...it was something stupid like I had to find a different version of the logitech software on their website, installed it and it started working from there.

Ok, uninstall the setpoint software, restart your machine, install the C++ software found here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=90548130-4468-4BBC-9673-D6ACABD5D13B&displaylang=en%20 , restart your machine, download and install the setpoint 4.80 version of the setpoint software, restart your machine, should be working.

P.S. I'm guessing you installed the 64 bit version of Windows 7, if you didn't then your mouse simply won't work anymore.  Just kidding, you need to get this version of the C++ software instead if you are running 32 bit http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-9C99-220B62A191EE&displaylang=en

I'm running 32bit

So... the C++ has some libraries the the setpoint software uses, I assume?

I'll try it tonight, thanks

Well that didn't work

Uninstalled setpoint, reboot, installed C++, reboot, installed setpoint, reboot, still no MMB in controls setup

I found it - right under my nose...

On the main Setpoint screen, step 2 is to set the button assignments.  The default setting for the MMB was "Universal Scroll".  I clicked that, set it to "Generic Button" and it worked. (at least in CoD 4, I'm off to try it in the other games now)

This looked familiar, like I have set it before, but obviously a while ago.

Oh - and....  It a Logitech Trackman Marble T-BB18
