EALA have released Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert and Tiberian Sun as permanent freeware for public download. Some of you may remember that Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert have previously been made available like this before, but this marks the first time that the complete trio of Westwood's originals have been made totally free.

Yeah, Red Alert didn't even come out that long ago, sure glad I didn't buy it.  I think they are just hyping it up because they are about to launch the new C&C IV.

You're probably thinking of Red Alert 3 that came out sorta recently.  It's been a couple of years.  Covelle and I bought it, played it for a week or two and that was the end of it.  It really wasn't that much more advanced than it's predecessor, RA2 which came out about 8 years earlier.  I'm pretty sure the original Red Alert is well over 10 years old.

There's really not much difference between the original and 3 anyway to be honest.  Ok, there is a difference, but not 10 years' worth of difference.
