I have some marvell sata ports on my mobo and have no idea how to use them. I installed the drivers for them and that's it.

What do you mean you don't know how to use them? You plug sata drives into them. Do you have the 3G or the 6G ports?

3G. I have four black connecters, three blue, and one red. Not sure if they are different because of some sort of color coding, or if I can just go ahead and use them without any worries.

what are the ports labeled as? my old mobo had 4 reds and 4 blacks, the reds each had a designation (raid_sata1, raid_sata2, etc) and the blacks were just numbered

YThanks for that Schlup, but it doesn't answer my question. My boot drive and CD/DVD drives are connected to the black ports. With marvell installed, could the red and blue ones act as plain SATA and connect other devices to them?
I have another HDD I want to connect and plan on getting a 1TB drive in the future.

Yeah, they are all SATA except for the red one which is eSATA. You can connect whatever you want to them, though if you are going to run your HDD's in RAID config you need to connect them all to one color...recommend the (3) blue ones.

No raid, just want to have another sata drive. I'll put it in and play around.
