So here I am sitting around bored and I start to wonder if my computer would run Bad Company 2 as well as it should be run.

Here's my computer's (Edited) DxDiag:

------------------
System Information
------------------
Time of this report: 2/23/2010, 15:18:53
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: Dell DXP061
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 2.5.0
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU          6420  @ 2.13GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 3070MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

---------------
Display Devices
---------------
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
 Display Memory: 512.0 MB
 Current Mode: 1600 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz)
 Driver Version: 6.14.0011.9621 (English)
 DDI Version: 9 (or higher)
 Driver Date/Size: 1/11/2010 22:03:33, 6359168 byte

Will this work for Bad Company 2?  Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I realize after posting this that it may belong in the Computer Hardware section, but I figure that because it's just to make sure my computer work run the game properly if I were to purchase it.

Guard: Surrender, Assassin, and I promise you a quick and easy death.
Assassin: I could promise you the same, but it would be a lie.

You might want to think about upgrading not just for bc2 but for future games, but i have a comp with 9800gt and a dual core processor and it runs below average but playable.

Yeah, I'd say your graphics card isn't going to be enough.

Gotcha, thanks.  I'll probably talk with Hash about building a new one from scratch once I've got the cash and he's got the time.

Yeah, that's probably not a bad idea...it's getting to be that time for your system.

I'd recommend first off setting up a budget for your build and figuring out what all you can reuse from your current system like DVD burners, etc.

You'll want to get a quad-core of 3 GHz or faster, 4GB+ of DDR3 RAM, Windows 7 x64, and the best video card that you can afford...it's one of the most important components...especially with the rest of your system being able to handle the power.

In fact, I think I've got 4GB of either DDR2 or (more likely) DDR3 in my computer as four 1GB sticks.  Yeah, I've got a cd/dvd drive and a dvd r/rw that came standard.  Other than the video card and the RAM, it's all the standard stuff for a Dell XPS 410.

Thanks for the advice, I'll see what I can do about figuring up a budget.  Probably just keep tossing cash into savings and stop buying so many games, lol.
