http://www.quakecon.org/Last year me and my son went to this event for the first time and absolutely loved it. Over 3,000 gamers are there with their computers for 4 days of 24/7 gaming. If you want to bring your computer then you must register to reserve a spot. There are normally some very large corporate sponsors (Id, nVidia, AMD, etc) and the swag given out is tremendous (thousands of dollars of processors, cases, gaming pads, tshirts, etc).
Id will be releasing some news on the upcoming Doom 4 at this event.
Overall, quite an enjoyable event.
