BF Bad Company 2 Server Downtime

They are upgrading the hardware for master server.

Time Starts: 8:00 GMT or 0:00 PST Today, same for tommorow.


If you live in EU, have a lie in, or get a job, go to school etc, it will be fixed when you come back.

If you live in US, get some sleep early, it'll be fixed when you wake up.


Q&A:

How long is the server upgrade?
DICE_Bazajaytree: It wouldn't be a full 48 hours down, and likely would only take 1-2 hours.

Will I get my M1?
DICE_Bazajaytree: I do not know, I'll find out when I get to work.

When will new public servers be allowed?
DICE_Bazajaytree: Next week the earilest, still monitoring hardware.

thanks for the update. i was wondering what was going on becuase i couldnt log on! im only in town for 2 days and they're doing an upgrade. worst luck ever.

Thanks for this update Whippett, this upgrade took place back on the the 10th, but when going to verify the date I noticed they are doing another upgrade, this is probably what you are talking about, here's the full story...

EA Maintenance, now with extra added hardware

Tomorrow, 12th March, and Saturday, 13th March at 8:00GMT/9:00 CET:12:00 (midnight) PST, EA will take the servers down, this time we will come up with even more hardware with more capacity to handle all the BFBC2 traffic. Once the maintenance is complete you will experience an improvement to your online experience.
 
This will be extended maintenance to allow the new hardware to be installed and affect all three platforms (PC, PS3 and Xbox 360).
Maintenance on Friday 12th will last for 4 hours - 8:00 GMT to 12:00 midday GMT/9:00 CET to 13:00 CET/12:00 midnight PST to 4:00 PST.
 
Since launch a week ago, BFBC2 has already put EA servers through the following stress:
The 4 different soldier types have gathered a score of more than 34 Billion.
There's been more than 400M kills made.
1.3M roadkills
Squads and Teams have assisted each other to 6.2 Billion points.
 
Now we are adding more capacity to let you smash those numbers multiple times over in the weeks to come.
