"Chinese bureaucrats are battling each other for the right to regulate World of Warcraft. They hope to gain the political clout and the revenue that comes along with controlling a new industry with potential for explosive growth. 'They see this pie is getting bigger and bigger, so it is no wonder different administrations are fighting over pieces of that territory.' It's absurd how orcs and elves (and Moonkin) can affect so many different faraway places."

Its no different than with any other fortune500 game that has gone over seas or came to us. Think about Grand thief auto. hundreds of millions of dollars was thrown on the table with Microsoft and Sony. If people love it business men well fight for it....no mater if there an Elf or not all they see is money.

He's probably thinking that if an IW game got as large as WoW is, then even politicians would be trying to get a piece of the action.  Which would mean more publicity and, potentially, customers / profit.  And as we all know, IW is only out for the money.

By having IW allow dedicated servers, popularity would spread even more thus increasing the number of games sold.  Not to mention whatever revenues from groups having to get the software in order to host their own servers, but then again IW is stubborn and it's still unlikely they'd care even with something like this.

Guard: Surrender, Assassin, and I promise you a quick and easy death.
Assassin: I could promise you the same, but it would be a lie.
