Hey since a couple people have been doing icons lately I'd like to get some for TS3. There are some default ones that are being used right now (the ones to the right side of the name), but we can customize them and the default ones doing fit our groups very good. Here's what we have setup group wise: Master Admin Senior Admin Junior Admin Member Jr. Member
That's it in a nutshell, they need to be about the same size as what is currently in there (which is small I know). If you need some examples you can look in the images section of your local TS3 install and there are all the default there. They can be color or whatever!

The TeamSpeak forum is full of themes, skins, icon packs, and sounds. http://forum.teamspeak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=111The first thing I came across was the themes. There were ones for MW2 and BFBC2. I am still looking at the icon packs.

The themes are installed on a per user basis, hate to say it but I feel like we would have a very small adoption rate of people installing themes. The icons however we can push to users from the server which makes it a much easier deal for the user and adoption rate thus would be 100%. The icon packs you speak of are also not the user group icons but icons instead for things like the mic mute, speaker mute, talk icon and non talk icon...these are also user installed things and adoption rate would be low. I want them to be universal so we have a consistent theme.

Attached is a sample screenshot of TS3. Are the icons I have circled in red the ones you want to change?

Yes, currently they are all little shields with a letter on them, they can be anything but that's what they are currently.

Attached is an .RAR file with some 16x16 Army rank icons that could be used in TS3. I think that military ranks make sense due to the fact that most of our games are military in scope.
They are the correct size so we do not have to worry about that.
Here is just a suggestion as to how the symbols could be used: Master Admin: Officer (O11) - 5 stars Senior Admin: Officer (O9) - 3 stars Junior Admin: Officer (O7) - 1 star Member: Officer (O6) - Eagle Jr. Member: Enlisted (E9) - any enlisted symbol would work Recruit: Recruit (E1 or E2)
The Recruit would be a new category that all the new recruits would be in until they are voted in as new members. It would be easier to identify them this way.
Having the complete collection of ranks allows us to expand as needed.
Just a thought.

I like this idea...anybody else have any feelings on it?
P.S. There would be no recruit because there isn't a server group for them and really no reason to create one because the permissions wouldn't differ between a recruit and a member. That's the only issue I have with it.

Yea, no problem. The recruit group is really not necessary.
I like the star ranks for the Admins (1-3-5) - this will easily identify them.
I selected the O7 for the Member group since the Eagle looks nice. A consensus from other members could help to finalize this.
With the wide variety of enlisted ranks to choose from, we should get the Junior Members feedback on which rank they choose to represent the group. I think the senior enlisted ranks look better, but it would be their choice.

Attached is a graphic showing all the rank images/names.
Also attached is an example of what they would look like in TS3.

Thanks for the Twitter post, "New TeamSpeak 3 beta 18 client now available. Just restart your TS and it will prompt you to update."
The software updated perfectly!
Attached are the group icons we selected for TS3. This would be an ideal time to load them on the server and push them out to the clients. That way everyone will have them installed and ready for the upcoming All Hands meeting on Monday (4/5).

I tried numerous times to modify the prior post but could not no matter what I did (log out and back in, restart browser, etc).
I even tried to remove the post and received the same verification failure message.
Attached to this post are the same icons in 16x16 format. The prior post had the icons in all variety of sizes. Now they are all consistent.

I like the icons, but it is hard to tell the difference between who has the higher rank. This is what I think it should be: Jr. Member: TeamSpeak Icons Member: TeamSpeak Icons or TeamSpeak Icons Admins: Remain the same.

Attached is the Jr Member icon you indicated.
Also attached are 3 versions of what the member icon can be. Member 1: Senior Enlisted Member 2: Junior Officer (Gold Bar) Member 3: Junior Officer (Silver Bar)
All of the icons are in the PNG format and 16x16 in size.

I'm pretty easy....I like all of them so far but I have to be honest and say that I think it is not proper to distinguish between say a Jr Member and a Regular Member or even any other Member for that matter.. As far as I am concerned a Member is a Member regardless of age or whether or not the person is an Admin or not. As far as I am concerned, we are all equal here, with the exception of game skill, in which case I know I am a N B!
