Ok, so starting this evening, when i try and play mw2 online about 2 mins into each map my screen goes ...wacky! (yes thats the technical term!) pixelation, tearing...that kinda stuff. When Im NOT playing mw2 everything is fine....any helpful suggestions>?

 Intel Core2 Quad Q6600, 2.4ghz, 4GRam, Nvidia Geforce8800 GTS 512

Did you try updating your video drivers?  Does it do it in other games?  Have you run any video stress tests like FurMark to see if you can get the problem to repeat itself?  Have you tried another video card to see if the problem still happens?

I would look to make sure you have the correct drivers installed. The current official version is 196.21.

If its running fine for a short time then goes wacky, that sounds like it would be a temperature or clock issue causing artifacting.  Usually happens to me if i overclock too far, but i assume your at stock clocks.

gpu is running around 60C..not sure if thats ok?

Yeah, that is all good...though I assume you mean MW2 not waw2 since there is no World at War 2 at this point.  Go download and run FurMark and see what happens.

I gave Furmark a shot, ..didnt do much cept crash my pc at about 80C or so...but im not exactly sure what to be looking for.  Ty for all the suggestions tho, Smiley

TO me it sounds like you might be having an issue with the PSU. It sounds like when the video card really starts demanding the extra power that your PSU is just lacking and dieing out on you. Run something like HWMonitor and see what your voltages are at.

Yeah, what size PSU are you running?  How long have you been running this?  What changes have you recently made?
