So I was laying down for a bit letting the kid (XmanThePro) play the computer and he comes to wake me up to make him grub. As I am walking out he tells me that my computer case and monitor started shaking and he had to grab hold of them. So I am first worried and then I start thinking "Well this thing has a ton of fans in it so maybe one became unbalanced" I just stumble across this and it is about the same time he told me about the shaking. Rochester is 45-60 minute drive from here.

(Rochester, N.Y.) – Did you feel that?

The 13WHAM-TV newsroom felt shaking at about 1:41 p.m. It lasted for about 5 to 10 seconds.

Twitter and Facebook comments indicate people felt the slight shaking all over Rochester.

The U.S. Geological Survey said there was a 5.5 magnitude earthquake in the Ontario-Quebec border region in Canada.

We will bring you more information as it becomes available.

Well first off, no fan in your computer could ever cause it to actually move.  Have you felt how heavy that thing is?  Secondly, check this out...we are going to be pwned by it in Missouri one day...

I'm about 20 miles from the center of that tremor...Me and the boys were busy workin on a kitchen reno and all of a sudden I hear this rumbling sound.  Almost sounded like a dump truck with a load of stones coming down the road, but the ground wasnt shaking, all I heard was a rumbling sound, and it got louder.  The guy I'm working with says "that a big truck coming".  I said, that isnt a truck, its an earthquake...no sooner the ground was shakin...  I gotta say, that was a surreal moment;  almost felt like I could just take a step forward, and walk onto stable ground, like stepping off of the twirling tunnel at the end of the fun house.  Easily lasted half a minute, and it got more intense as time went on......after reality set in (while we all stood around staring at each other like zombies) I thought...maybe we want to get outside...so we went out and EVERYONE was outside too!

We've had the odd small tremor before but that was by far one of the freakiest things I've ever experienced....I will never forget this day for as long as I live.

The quake knocked out landlines and my cell phone was offline for about 3 hours too.  Also heard reports of alien sighting near the epicenter, and one Elvis sighting. Tongue

Yea I remember my first Earthquake a few years ago, it woke me up from a dead sleep. I did not even know what happened til later that day a friend told me about it and at what time it was at and that is what time it was when I woke up.
