It took me 4.5 months to get to level 80. Price for games alone: $80, Subscription total: $60, Total amount spent on WoW: $140.

Worth it? Yes.

But here's the biggest thing.  This is the longest Grill has EVER played a game.  That right there is pretty impressive...however, my bet is that he stops playing within a month or two.

It's true, there are services online where people will create a character for you and rank it up to 80 in WoW in a week, guaranteed.

At level 80-85 I'm sure it would take longer than that.  I'd say if I had to guess probably each level would take a week.  And that's playing several hours a night.

So here's my personal opinion of this game I own it right now and only cause a friend really pushed me I have a few lvl 60ish guys and really don't find the game super addicting in fact I barely play it I enjoyed it for the first 3 months (really only caused we rafted) but after the 5 months now I tend to find my self going back to faster passed games where I feel like I have more control As in Getting head shots and such so go ahead and try the free trial you might love it but from me a big time strategy and shooter fan its just not fast enough for me

I stopped playing WoW a while ago and I get the itch to get my character back and start playing again but I really feel it's way to complicated at the moment.

For clarification, I had a lvl 80 warrior (tanking heroics and low level raids & Fury specced DPS), a lvl 80 druid (off tanking a few things in a pinch but was mostly for PVP & healing), and a lvl 80 DK (tanking larger raids & DPS).  So that is essentially 6 characters and specs that I had to keep geared, gemmed, 'chanted, and buffed AND read up and keep up with the most optimal rotations and specs and gear wish-lists. Not too mention know the fights inside & out from a tanking, melee, and healing perspective. 

It became so much work just to be able to function and have fun with my guild who was very casual with no requirements to raid other then show up and be ready (food, pots, etc).

I'm seriously waiting for the next expansion to come out and see how well they've "rebooted" the game back to simpler times. In the mean time, my toons are still active and raiding with some friends from the guild who have taken over the account and will hand it back whenever I want. So yeah, I'm kinda leery about it but it really is an amazing game.

My favorite memory was tanking a PUG heroic and being the last surviving member of the party on 4 bosses and downing them from 40% life to dead....It was pro.

Schlup, more then likely when cataclysm hits and if I get back into playing it I may do just that, it will probably be the druid since he can do everything but who knows.

I won't get addicted...it's not that much fun, just a nice break from FPS every once in a while.

Wait until you're level 80 and have to get a job roaming the AH or doing professions for money for repairs and then there's always the daily quests, daily dungeons, and nightly raids....It sneaks up on you.
