Two questions:

1) What OS are you running?

2) Are you running your HDD's in RAID 0?

P.S. Welcome back!

Yeah, I am upgrading my old old computer toward the end of this week so that I can run Windows 7 on it.  So I'll be running Windows XP SP3 on my notebook, Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 on my main computer, and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my old old computer.  I'm pretty stoked about it...it's going to give me a very good idea on if I want to run Windows 7 on my main computer when it gets out of the beta stages.  I'm pretty sure I will...unless it just sucks but that little that I have used it in a VMWare envirionment it seems pretty sweet!

Yea ive read some mixed reviews about it, some for it and against, but you get that on most any reviews of a product or program.....But what ive seen of it, it does look sweet maybe theyll get the bugs worked out of it pretty quick

Yeah, the best thing about it and the thing that will get businesses to pick it up is the fact that it runs faster than XP.

Just bumped my system up a little, nothing like I wanted but hey its prob still better than an AMD 3500

Intel Core2 Quad Q9400 @ 2.66ghz
4.00 GB OCZ DDR2 1066 Ram (4 more gig coming next month)
Same old vid card .. Nvidia 9600 GT 512mb
500 Gig Seagatye Barricuda Sata II Drive
Samsung Sata Dvd Burner w/Lightscribe
Gigabyte EP43-DS3L Mobo
Windows Vista Pro - x64bit

Someday I will get the raptor drive, a new video card - that will help out

Ya, with all the compatibility woes of Vista and 64-bit os's.. I was worried.. but running pretty smooth.. overclocked it a bit much , causing me to warp around in css.. but think i got it back to playing normal (using medium auto oc setting)
