PLEASE NOTE: Some Information is Out of Date
GoalThe BPN WoW guild's focus is to enjoy playing the game together through casual raiding. Our number one priority is to have fun and have successful runs together as a guild. Gaining gear is secondary to clearing content and working as a team. If we can be successful at raiding, the gear will follow. After all, you only need good gear so that you can clear more content.
WoW is full of players with elitist attitudes who make it difficult for new players to learn the game without being ridiculed. One of the focuses of BPN is to welcome these players who might need some help and direction and help them to learn the game and become better players.
The BPN WoW guild is a faction of the BPN gaming community. The BPN gaming community was established in 2005 by like-minded gamers. These gamers were tired of the bad attitudes and childish behavior that is so prevalent in online games today. It was a way to bring together gamers to enjoy playing together without constantly being berated or sworn at.
The BPN WoW guild generally follows the same rules as the BPN Gaming community which can be found here
BPN Rule BookA summarized (but not exhaustive) list of the rules is as follows:
* The minimum age requirement to join the BPN community is 18 years old.
* No cheating (this includes gold/gear buying with currency outside of the game).
* BPN Community Members, Recruits and Admins are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. (ie: no swearing or teasing someone because of a handicap, etc.).
Realm and FactionWe are on the Durotan realm and play as the Alliance faction.
Raiding ScheduleSunday 8PM-12AM Durotan server time
Mondays 9PM-12AM Durotan server time
Wednesdays 9PM-12AM Durotan server time
Fridays (Alt Night) 8PM-11PM Durotan server time
Attending a raidBPN is primarily a raiding guild, but raid attendance is not mandatory.
All raids will be scheduled via the in-game calendar. Any member who is planning to attend should mark their attendance in the in-game calendar. It is important that you mark yourself as confirmed if you plan on attending as we may find that a raid is full and attendees will be selected from those who confirmed their attendance.
Anyone not logged on when raid group selection takes place will forfeit their spot. This spot may go to another player if you do not log on soon enough.
Everyone should be on time and fully repaired with any required mats, flasks, and/or regents. Everyone will also be expected to use Ventrilo for communication during the raid. If you do not have access to a microphone, you can at least install Vent and listen.
OverbookingIn the event that a raid is overbooked, the group will be made up of what are the required dynamics for the raid. For example, in an ICC 10 man raid, two tanks, two healers, and a mixture of ranged and melee DPS will be selected for the raid. We will do our best to assure that nobody who confirmed attendance sits out twice in a row.
Loot BPN follows an open loot system. All loot is rolled on freely. There is no DKP or loot committee. The only requirement is that the gear you are rolling on must benefit the toon you are using in the raid that night.
The only time when something isn't open for rolls is for professions as described below. In raids, your roll will be ignored until the raid leader calls out for rolls. Rolls will only be counted if they are issued after the leader calls for rolls.
Main spec (MS) vs Off spec (OS)Main spec - This is gear that will directly benefit the spec that you are using in the raid that day. For example, assume you are a dual spec Paladin. Your are in the raid that night as DPS using a Retribution spec. Any DPS gear that drops that would benefit you is considered main spec. This is true even if you are typically a Protection/tank spec. You will only be allowed to roll for tank gear if you are tanking the raid or if you roll as Off spec.
Off spec - This is gear that will benefit your second spec, the spec that you are not using during the raid.
Unless otherwise stated, each raid participant will only be allowed to win one main spec piece of gear per raid or if there are multiple wings in the raid then one piece per wing, unless nobody else wants the item for their main spec. This will give everyone a greater chance at winning something each raid. If nobody takes a piece of gear for main spec, the loot then goes to Off spec where anyone can roll on the item for their secondary spec. If nobody wants it as MS or OS, it will be sold or disenchanted with the gold or enchanting mats placed in the guild bank. If it is Bind on Equip gear and nobody wants it, it will be placed into the guild bank.
Guild BankPlease use good judgement when taking items. Only take things that you will use. Do not take items just to sell them for gold. Do not take items that are too high of a level for you to use in order to reserve it for yourself. Remember that the bank is filled by our members who are trying to benefit everyone. If you pull items out, please make an effort to return the favor by adding other useful items back in to the bank when you can. Schlup will keep an eye on the bank and if there is blatant abuse, it will be handled on a case by case basis. If you have any questions, please contact Schlup. If you would like something from the Epic tab, please contact an admin to take it out for you.
Gear tab: In order to keep the gear tab of the guild bank organized and clutter free we have arranged the gear by minimum level required to wear gear. It goes left to right, low level to high level. For minimum required level gear of 1-50 only Greens, Blues, and Purple items will be accepted. For minimum required level gear of 50+ only Blues, and Purple items will be accepted. (All other items placed in the guild bank will be sold and profits will be put in the guild bank).
Keeping the guild bank organized is important and you will notice that all tabs of the guild bank are ordered in a certain way, please adhere to this organization when placing items in the guild bank and do not move items around in there.
Becoming a MemberIntersted players should register on the BPN website at this address:
http://www.bulletproofnerds.com/user/register Once you are registered and logged into the website you will see a link at the top of the homepage titled "Membership Application" ALL people interested in joining the guild MUST fill out the application and submit it, you can also click the link below:
http://www.bulletproofnerds.com/ClanApplication after registering on the website.
In order to be a member of the guild you must also fit within the BPN gaming community rules which can be found at
http://www.bulletproofnerds.com/rules. All guild members should remember that they represent BPN. Belittling or disrespecting other players, no matter their guild, will not be tolerated.
Once joining the guild, members should have a quick meeting with Jingild/Alomar to discuss any questions.
RanksMembership has four levels. They are: Unregistered, Recruit, Member, Admin.
Unregistered - Any new player will be at this status until their registration with the website is complete & membership application is submitted and accepted.
Limitation - No Teamspeak or Guild Bank access.
Recruit - Any player with this status has registerred with the website and is in their 30 day recruitment period. Every player will remain a recruit for 30 days. It is important to BPN that the members get to know new recruits before their promotion to member status. This is only to protect what the current BPN members have accomplished. During your time as a recruit, you should direct any questions you might have to any admin or officer.
Limitation - Can withdraw 2 stacks from General tab of the guild bank and 1 stack out of each of the 2nd, 3rd tab and 4th tabs each day.
Member - Obviously, members are the bread and butter of the BPN Guild. After 30 days, the admins will discuss the recruit and decide to promote the player to member or not. Generally, if a player has been active in the game, gotten on TeamSpeak and talked to other members and recruits, and visited the website and forums, they will be promoted.
Benefits - Members can withdraw 5G and 2 stacks from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th tabs of the guild bank each day. Members can use vent to host raids.
Admin - The admins are basically the same as members except that they have additional responsibilities that they have taken on for the benefit of the guild. The only additional access admins have is the ability to update member notes in the guild window and the ability to invite, promote, demote, or remove members within the guild and withdraw items from the Epic tab of the guild bank.
Admin roles - There are a number of roles the admins must fill, and they are described below
Guild Master - Shotinstar (named 'fallen' in TS) is responsible for the overall health of the guild. He is the catch all for any responsibilities which have not yet been assigned.
Treasurer - Schlup is responsible for the health and organization of the guild bank.
Guild Relations - Schlup is responsible for coordinating any guild alliances we may have. This would mean working with another guild to send some of our members to help them raid or to have some of their members come to help us raid.
Website - Grillzor is responsible for the maintenance of the BPN website in relation to the WoW faction.
Personnel - Grillzor is responsible for any behavioral issues within the guild.
Recruitment - Jingild/Alomar is responsible for recruiting new members and making sure that new members' needs are met and questions are answered.
Leaving the GuildBefore leaving the guild, we would appreciate it if you could discuss your reasons with an admin. We welcome everyone's input and want to make improvements where they may be necessary. Admins don't always get to see everything that goes on and may just need it brought up to get it addressed. If your issue is with one of the admins, please bring this up with another admin. We want to make the guild an enjoyable community for everyone. However, if you still decide you want to leave the guild you will not be able to rejoin for 30 days and you will be restricted from access to BPN resources and guild activities for 30 days as well. So make sure that is really what you want to do.
If a player has not been active for 30 or more days without notice, they will be removed from the guild. If you will be gone for this amount of time, please just let an admin know the details or post in the forums. If you were not active because of some unforeseen event, please let us know via the website, forums or in game when you can. There are many good reasons why a person may not be able to be on the game for an extended period of time, and we won't remove anyone unless you just vanish without warning.
