Gladden is my main server, but I do have toons on others as well. It's f2p now so if you had a past acct you just need to install / update your client and log in. If anyone wants to try it out. You can start your acct at http://www.lotro.com/ If anyone wants a tour let me know here and I'll be glad to dust off one of my toons :p

The graphics are just as good as WoW and honestly, if you're into lore or even a fan of LOTR, LOTRO is probably better for you. It never felt grindy and always felt like I was playing in one of the movies. The reason I couldn't really get into it is because I was so used to some of the things from WoW like threat meters and what not but they do have addons for the game as well and if I really put time into it, I could have set it up right and played it well.

I haven't played WoW, so I cant say much about it, but IMO WoW looked more cartoonish I could be wrong, but I think one of the biggest differences is the pvp system. on Lotro pvp is kept in the etinmoors. When you have reached lvl 10 on a server, you can roll a pvp only monster player (creep). Creeps cant leave the moors, but the free people of middle earth (freeps) come out there and battle for control of keeps it can be tons of fun Smiley all though f2p accts are restricted

F2p accounts can not play PvP or player vs Creeps?

I had my life time acct before they went f2p, but if I understand it right you have to upgrade your acct to "pvp" I'm not exactly sure about what you have to do to upgrade, I've been a lifer for years

I am also a Lifer in LoTRO. Vin and I both Play on Gladden. If we have some interested people, I'm sure we could get a pretty good group formed up and run together for an evening just so people can get the feel for the game. I have characters all over the spectrum, and I'm willing to role a new character to run people through the beginning areas, though the intro is pretty much a cake walk.

I downloaded it and it was a big file lol, but i played it and didn't like the movement and the servers seemed dead, anyways i think its because i played wow for a long time and i am used to the WoW standards.

How far did you get Xtricity? The early levels are pretty empty. You need to get up to at least 7 - 10 range before you really start interacting with other players. The starter areas are isolated from the rest of the player base to make it as easy as possible to get your starter quests done. Once you get into Bree you are falling over people.
