As this year unfolded, the above timelapse displays of picturesque auroras were captured above Tromsų, Norway. Curtains of auroral light, usually green, flow, shimmer and dance as energetic particles fall toward the Earth and ionize air molecules high up in the Earth's atmosphere. With solar maximum still in the future, there may be opportunities to see spectacular aurora personally over the next three years.

    I have seen these when I lived in Alaska.  Alaska is a beautiful state and IMO the entire landmass should be one national park.  Beautiful mountains, fresh water streams, wildlife, great hiking trails, and a surprisingly warm summer.

    In the video, at 0:45, you can see a shooting star going from the top right to the bottom middle.

    Since its a timelapse, wouldn't that streak have to be a plane or a satellite? Theres a whole bunch of them throughout the video, the one at 1:24 is really bright.
