Samsung Announce First DDR4 RAM

Today, Samsung announces that it has developed the world’s fist DDR4 DRAM module, which is based on 30nm manufacturing process.

The DDR4 DRAM model operates at 2133MHz with working voltage of 1.2V. In addition, it adopts 30nm manufacturing process with capacity of up to 2GB. What’s more, it adopts POD (Pseudo Open Drain) technology and reduces power consumption by 40% compared to a 1.5V DDR3 module.

In memory history, the world’s first DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 DRAM are all developed by Samsung. This time, it also keeps the record. Let me hope the products won’t disappoint us.

Well by my guesses this won't become mainstream like DDR3 is right now until 2014.  You have to remember, Intel and AMD still have to create chips that work with DDR4 and motherboard companies still have to make mobos that support DDR4.
