I thought I'd make a thread since all the discussion was inside a topic that while active was relatively niche and every page someone was asking about it.
Information about the current pack
gibbed and I (mostly gibbed) enabled the following in the demo:
- All planes unlocked
- Extra planes (F-22, SU-47, F-20, Mirage F1, F-15 Active) hidden in the demo are enabled
- All weapons enabled and unlocked
- Removes the demo exit ads
And what you guys probably like even more:
- Coop for Rio (4 players)
- Team Deathmatch for Rio (8 players)
- All planes and weapons available in MP
This pack is a culmination of the various ones floating around before and is essentially all you need for anything and everything above.
How do I play MP?
You can download it here: (
http://gib.me/hawx/instructions.html). Instructions are on that page, but to summarize:
0. Delete any old mods you have (if applicable)
1. Throw the .pak in your root directory (C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Demo\Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X\ usually)
2. Rename inicache.bin to something else (inicache.bak for example). This is so the engine loads external scripts.
3. You're ready to play!
Stuff that possibly may make it in in the future:
- Expanded playerlimit (8 to 16 players+)
- Perhaps some physics changes
No new maps, etc will be added. None are available in the demo pack. All that was in the demo files (both as assets or in spirit) has been enabled. That's as far as it goes.
Optional stuff
Want to disable the intro movies? Go into your root directory, then to Data\Movies. Rename the following files (add an underscore after them, for example):
Start.bik
Attractmode.bik
Clancyman_720p.bik
d_geoeye.bik
disclaimers.bik
rating.bik
Ubipresents.bik
You can also remove the briefing video:
brf_rio.bik
None of this will mess with multiplayer as movies (as with seemingly virtually everything) are not checksummed.

Currently we have a series of Hamachi networks up (due to their low size limit):

Players that join more than one will be kicked from all but one, so pick one!

The password on the paks is rF4hfGe1PfrzGe3IbaRtWsIn. Nothing else needs to be said (and nothing basic like "how do I mod" will be answered): dir structure etc should be self-explanatory.
