Bad Advice

I am involved in a discussion on a person's PC problems. 

Here is his issue:
"When I try to take a screenshot and paste it into paint/save it, this pop-up box appears and says,

"There is not enough memory or resources to complete this operation"

Why does this appear and how can I fix it?

I know for a fact memory is no the issue here, I've got plenty of memory."


Now here are the weird responses I have seen:
"I believe that can happen just because your computer is very tired. Try restarting and doing it over, I bet it'll work."

"shut it off and take the memory card out and the visual card(can't remember what it is called, maybe graphic card) and stick it back in, something may have came loose. check other things and clean out dust or dirt. make sure the computer is at least 6 inches off the floor do dirt is less likely to get trapped in it. that is my suggestion. i belt a computer before and it doesn't sound to serious."

P.S. Is this a serious troubleshooting issue or is this just a joke?

I replied to all three of those tips.  The first one kept insisting the PC would get tired because it would use more resources.  The second one was a laugher.  Graphics cards affecting system memory?  I know they affect the video output on the screen...  And for the third one, I posted a map of the keyboard.
