Running Windows 7 Fulltime

Well Windows Vista automatic updates downloaded and installed some kind of patch that really hosed my machine. I couldn't even boot up in safe mode. So I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 over the top of it and will run it 24/7 now on my main machine. So far so good. There is some sort of issue with CoD4 that punkbuster will kick you after a little bit with an error message of:
Restriction: Unknown Windows API Function [131134]
So until I get that figured out I won't be playing CoD4. CoD5 works great though which is a bit confusing. Also, I haven't quite got my microphone working yet which is a little wierd but 5.1 surround works great with the Creative drivers.
Another good thing about it is that all the major hardware manufacturers are already making drivers for x32 and x64 Windows 7.
Anyways, I keep you all posted on how other games work as I get them installed and running.

Well that doesnt make sense. Vista is the greatest OS on the face of the earth. Why would you go to a beta full time?
RC1 should be out in April.

Well I'm not quite sure why Vista won't boot up...I know it was an automatic update that threw something out of whack but I should still have been able to boot up in safe mode...doesn't make any sense.

The other GREAT thing I noticed is that my framerates in all games increased dramatically with Windows 7. I thought it was just me until I started doing a little research on the issue. Apparently everybody is getting much better framerates with Windows 7 over that of Windows Vista AND Windows XP. Windows 7 is being dubbed "the gamers OS". So far I am loving it! Just much faster all around than Windows Vista and Windows XP as well. Boot up times have cut in half!
Still having issues with Windows 7 and punkbuster on CoD4 though...Punkbuster refuses to support it, there have been many fixes for the issue put out there. I have tried 2 of them so far and have fixed one issue but another one pops up. I'll get it working before long though.

Yeah, but there's gotta be a work around for it. There's a lot of smart people out there surely somebodies thought of it by now. I've done a little research on it without luck but I'm sure if I really dug down I could find the solution. If you find it let me know!
