Hey all, I just signed up and have been on Call of Duty 5 alot. Unfortunately I have some comp issues that have made me decide to reinstall my OS, so I may not be around for a few days (depending on how much time I spend on it and when I start). I have started backing things up to my new hard drive and we'll see how it goes.

You should just install the new OS like normal...it will then create a folder called "Windows.old" in which everything will be in so you can move it or whatever you want to do with it.  That is how I did it.  I have had to reinstall Vista once like that and then I installed Windows 7 like that as well.  Data is all still there...great way to do it as long as you have enough HDD space.

Honestly, I don't keep much on my C drive, most of my backing up is an other drive that I am moving to my fiance's computer. That and saved game files and such as my installed programs will need reinstalling and all. Ticks me off that I have to do this, but the bootsector is on the drive I'm removing, lol. I didn't want to reinstall until either Vista SP2 was out or Windows 7. I'm not really okay with installing windows 7 before it is finished. As you can tell, I haven't started the reinstall quite yet.

You should get chugging on that this weekend.  When I did it a couple of weeks ago it just took me about 5 hours on a nice little Saturday.

The important parts are done and I can play CoD5 again. My sleeping schedule has been messed up so I haven't really been able to run into anyone, what is a time that I might catch other BPN members playing CoD5?

Oh, in the evenings generally. Between 5pm EST and 10pm EST is what time most of us get on.

I had some hard drive trouble, ran checkdisk so hopefully all is well. If not, I'll be crying myself to sleep tonight, lol. Ah, the joy of computers.

Yeah, I hear you there...computers are awesome when they work and don't have any problems...but when something goes wrong...it's normally tough to fix it.
