I saw the movie, went home, downloaded all the other movies.  I did not see any remake resemblance.

well I should say it but I can't explain it. well I can explain it I just have to say Spoiler Alert cause it deals with the new movie. However It is a remake but it is not a remake. once you see the movie and have seen the past movies... not the shows... it will all become clear as to its a remake but it isn't. so it is up to you for you and probably others have not seen it yet if I should explian myself with some Spoiler Alerts.

thats my point it doesn't make sense untill I explain it and you would understand more if ya see the movie(s). But it is a remake but not a remake. ok all I can truely say is if they decide to make more movies with the new cast they can go in a deferent direction but still keep the star trek past in it. so by all technical say it is not a remake but in its own way it is... hope that makes more sense... I SUPER UBER tired and trying to explain this without ruining the movie is uber hard right now.

I just thought I would add that I hate all things that are Star Wars, Star Trek is alright though.

The new Trek movie is not a remake, but a reboot.  This movie starts the series all over, because in the first scene and alternate reality timeline is established, so everything we trekkies "know" about the Trek Universe is out the window (or is that out the viewscreen?)

The characters are all there, and there will be exciting stories to tell, but this aint your fathers Star Trek.

The death of Data at the end of the last movie (Nemesis) was in essence the goodbye to the old trek

Go see it, it's an amazing movie

No spoiler, unless you haven't seen the LAST movie, Nemesis, but that came out about 6 years ago.

I didn't reveal anymore than you see in the trailers on TV (but OOooo could I ......) Wink
