So I now have 2 Sparkle Nvidia GeForce 9600GT 1024MB 256Bit GDDR2 cards.

I had to shuffle drivers around for a hour until I could get into the Nvidia control panel to try enabling SLI.

After about 4 driver removals/reinstalls and 10 reboots I got SLI enabled and tried COD5.

I was getting this "shimmering" effect in some of the darker areas all over the screen that would flicker blue every other frame (as if the cards were rendering alternate frames and one was processing transparencies differently).

I updated the nvidia drivers, flashed my mobo bios to the newest version... and still got the same result.

Now I've formatted and reinstalled windows XP x64 SP2 with both cards already in to see if that works better. Now I get an unhandled exception error anytime I start up COD, even in safe mode.

I'm beginning to think my computer doesn't want me running SLI.
