In searching for the ultimate performance, computer enthusiasts usually do what they call an overclock, or running a computer component at a higher clock rate than what was specifically designed by the original manufacturer, therefore resulting in a boost of speed. However, overclocking can become quite tedious and frustrating. But with MSI's new motherboard, the OC Genie, overclocking just became that much easier.

Now any amateur can overclock their processor. It's all a push of a button, combined with a dedicated overclocking processor. No previous overclocking skills required and no more complicated set ups, thanks to MSI's new overclocking technology. Though we wouldn't call it the "most advanced technology in the world", it certainly is a new way of looking at overclocking.

But how do these new features work? With the OC Genie processor and the new OC Genie button, no hardware modifications and BIOs setup are required. MSI states that it's as simple as a push of a button. The OC Genie processor will then automatically detect the best overclocking setting, all within a second. Compare that to 10-30 minutes of trial and error!

Additionally, the button doesn't just adjust the CPU clock. It also optimizes CPU voltage, memory clock, and memory voltage to ensure overclocking stability.

As of right now, MSI is only utilizing this new technology on their P55 board. However, MSI does plan to implement OC Genie in future motherboards, with plans to even extend their new technology to AMD boards. Their hope is to allow all consumers to enjoy the performance and convenience brought by MSI's OC Genie technology.
