AMD Opteron to Get 12 Core, Quad Channel RAM by 2010

The new 45 nm Opteron is soon to be available and pulling the same trick that Intel did when it came out with it's Core 2 Duo process. AMD is following suit with its new side by side Hex Core chips in the same processor, using what they call the Direct Connection Architecture, the new Processor will also have Quad Channel RAM and all this by early 2010. The Magny-Cours will go into the 6000 series CPUs and maintain their superiority in the Professional Server Markets. While the new AMD AM3 955 Black Edition cannot compete with Intel's newest i7-965 counter part in the benchmark front and in the Home Gaming market it is definitely beating Intel in the price war and with today's economy Cheaper is better. AMD has been winning accolades for itself in the Budget computing arena. But in the Server Market is 12 Cores and Quad Channel going to help AMD stay far ahead in the Server Market?

Now for some little tidbits of AMD info to get your blood racing. If you think that AMD is a goner in the home enthusiast market you had better think again. Just you wait and see.
