Getting Discouraged

OK, I am getting a little discouraged here, are there no counter strike players here anymore? We came from Playing leagues and ladders with many css players to what we have now, BPN is more that just CoD I thought anyway, If we dont have any more players than this, something is wrong. Or should I say what is wrong with this picture? Are we just promoting Cod? I am just curious because until I am able to get a Cod game I am really just stuck playing eve online. And with just having the gun game and no dust server I never see anyone on.  Come on guys, if ya play css, speak up, if not, well I will have to decide then....

Run, there are about 4-5 people left in BPN that play CSS (2 of them are your sons) and they aren't very active.  Since there have been no active CSS players here for a while it has dwindled.  In order for it to be popular there have to be active players and there HAS to be ACTIVE RECRUITING for the game.  I did it before to build CSS to what it was but I honestly don't like playing CSS much anymore and nobody else seems to want to put in the time necessary to build it back up again...and it won't be me.  I keep pretty good tabs on things and I know where just about everybody is and what they have been doing.  If you do build it up again you will see 3-4 players come back every once in a while but they will not be regular and they will not be active.  We have a lively community full of CoD players now, there are about 2-3 of them that have CSS but they don't really play it anymore because they can play and have CoD5.  Furthermore, when CoD6 is released I believe you will see the overall CSS community as a whole (worldwide) dwindle down to just those that only play CSS because their computers won't run CoD6.  It's a very old game, Valve has not talked about any updates and they are not making a new game to replace CSS.  It's kinda like Duke Nukem or Wolfenstein 3D, they were once super popular with tons of people playing them but the developers dropped the ball and never made new versions of the game to keep up with other games that were out.  Now you still have a few people playing Duke Nukem or Wolfenstein 3D but it's more of for fun once every 5 years than anything else.  In my opinion Valve is simply stupid for not continuing the Counter Strike franchise when it had the popularity that it did.  You HAVE to put out a new game at least once every 3 years at the very minimum for a game to continue to be popular.  Counter Strike Source was released in 2004 and the previous version was released in 2003 which was 1.6.  However they didn't really make Source good enough to get everybody to switch over, then they gave up.  It's now just a dying game which is and will continue to lose market share to new games like Call of Duty and others.  Hope this makes sense.
