I was an avid C&C Generals and Zero Hour player......I have the others as well....

I played the demo and I agree with you 100%, whether that is a good thing or not I'm not sure.

I have every game that's been mentioned in this thread. DoW2 is far superior to all of them with C&C Generals following closely behind. DoW2 is a bit of a departure from the typical RTS game because there is no base building. It is a lot more tactical, so I thought it would be a bigger hit with you FPS guys.

They've had it on Steam at 50% off a few/couple of times so far this year. I just always find out about it after the sale is over, so no point mentioning it to you guys.

I play Zero Hour on a regular basis. If you like to play with mods, there is a great program called Crosus; it is available from
http://www.isotx.com/crosus/ and is AWESOME!
There are loads of mods and maps available, all you have to do is download them and then click the mod you want to play. Very, very cool.
I play it so often my son has threatened to uninstall it and destroy all 5 copies of the game, just so I'll play one of the 20 or 30 games I have sitting here that I've never installed.

CnC Zero Hour is an expansion of Generals. It rocks, but I always had a problem with it crashing quite often.
