To join up for a 5v5 TDM tournament. Winner will take home a FREE copy of Modern Warfare 2.
Hi everyone. I didn't want to be taken as Spam so I tried PMing Schlup, but he didn't seem to receive it or doesn't usually open PMs. I represent Global Warfighter League and I wanted to post in your forums regarding our latest CoD event. Our CoD WaW ladders are now open and we're kicking them off with a CoD WaW 5v5 TDM Prize tournament.
Registration is now open for Global Warfighter's CoD WaW 5v5 Team Deathmatch Prize tournament sponsored by
Moonwebz.com.
Registration open: August 4th, 2009
Registration will close: September 6th, 2009
This event will start on: September 7th, 2009
This tournament will be a 5v5 Team Deathmatch Tournament. The rounds will be played the way a standard GWL CoD WaW Team Deathmatch would be played using the GWL ruleset with the OpenWarfare mod.
The format for this tournament will be single elimination, winner takes all. A qualifier round will be conducted to determine seating and who makes it into the first official round.

a word about competition - i've been competing with teams of 5 players or more since 2001 ( wont bother with the resume ), so i learned a few things. reasons why teams lose/win matches are:
strats and practice - you really need to do scrims everyday if possible, the best of the best teams dont use strats as much as just play other really good teams all the time.
leadership - team captain has to have respect and has to be in control.
communication - talking of any sort during the match unless its tactical, i have lost matches cuz some jerk on my team was busy tellin me how he got killed or how he pwnd someone, all the while the docs are getting stolen, flag taken or the talking player gets killed again or who he's covering gets killed. i usually kick that player of the team and out of the clan after stuff like that, im sure this will be a bit more light hearted, but you get the idea.
rules knowledge - know the maps, the load-out and rules. i have lost a match cuz someone on my team globaled.
deaths - depending on spawntime, no rambos, less deaths = victory.
the more you play the easier it gets, and the more fun it is. it's really hard when you first start out to just listen and change your style of play to suit the team. some tactics require you to sit and guard an area and you have to do that without getting bored or pissed.
i dont like to lose matches btw, i dont mind getting beaten by a better team but i dont like to give them the game due to mistakes or infractions.
the good thing is that it'll just make us all better and will rox if we win.
o btw, we r already at a disadvantage cuz we play HC, we need lots of practice with the comp settings, hardly any perks.
