Story of second COLD WAR The Second Cold War
October, 2139, the start of the second cold war. PAC forces invade the Persian Gulf and head up the Baltic Sea. In November, PAC General Arkadi Petrov attack Minsk, a central headquarters for the EU. Four months of intense fighting occurs. A new terror of the Cold War emerges from the South, the first militarized Titan. EU forces are broken and forced to withdrawl.
By the end of 2140, PAC forces held most of Europe. With EU forces retreating to France, Verdun was a key military position to take. PAC operations sent in Titan ships as well as the new Nakomata hover tank. The main attack was used by land, with the PAC forces believing they had air superiority with the Titans. This did not last long, however, as the T-8 tiger proved more than capable of handling the ground forces. EU forces learn new strategies for attacking the Titan ships, inflicting heavy loses to the PAC military. This continues for about a month before the much smaller EU forces withdraw.
February, 2142, PAC forces come into Serbia, pushing EU forces into Belgrade. Intense fighting continues until a heavily armored walker divisions comes in from Bulgaria in March, in strict V formation, broke through the defending lines. The EU forces had no choice but to surrender. The PAC looks toward Berlin.
On April 10th, PAC forces attack Camp Gibraltar in an attempt to trick EU forces to move their divisions out of defensive positions in Africa. The plan backfires due to EU recon sniper tactics causing a quagmire for the PAC attempting to gain the camp. EU forces cause casualties and delays in the PAC armies.
On July 10th, 2142, PAC gunships attack Berlin, quickly taking control of the air. This allows Titan transports to come in and drop down squadrons behind EU lines. On August 15th, PAC forces have Berlin under siege and begin the offensive attack. Two months later, Berlin falls. The EU is forced to retreat to France before moving to the African provinces.
Cerbere Landing. The last EU stronghold in Europe is held by the “Hell Brigade”. General Yuri Vladomirovic sends in his PAC recon commando forces to cloak and take out the defenses. Once down, the fight for the Landing starts and continues for four months. The terrain being a natural uphill fortification, PAC forces lose the most equipment and men in the battles. The EU infantry hold the Landing. This allows continue support for the Mediterranean operations.
By the end of 2142, PAC forces found that the cold war was too much to continue and a change in strategy to gain resources became the standard. PAC forces attacked Shuhia Taibi, an agricultural project by the EU. Both armies immediately unleashed squadrons of Titan ships and heavy military divisions. Fighting went on over this area for more then a year, destroying all but two titans and decimating the value of the agricultural project so that none could use it. This site would later be known as the “Titan Graveyard” due to the metal carnage thrown across the land.
In January, 2143, PAC forces once again attempt to take resources by attacking the Sidi power plant. The cold war going on for four years now, most forces were depleted and infantry units were sent in to attack. EU forces had a three line defense, pushing PAC forces back every time. In March, both armies sent in heavy vehicles for the battle. The largest battle of the war is centered here. Both sides suffer heavy losses, but EU continues to hold the plant.
May 4th PAC forces invade the Suez canal. This tactic was designed to prevent the EU from being able to defend northern Africa. The EU forces were able to hold back the attack until the 10th Airborne Division arrived, from Tunis Harbor, to push back the PAC forces.
PAC forces launch a series of small raids on Tunis Harbor in an attempt to stop reinforcements from reaching the Suez canal. Fog allowed the PAC forces to land right in the harbor, pinning the EU forces down. Tunis Harbor held the Valkyrie Brigade, a division of Battle Walkers, that allowed the EU forces to finally push the attacks back and send support to the Suez canal.
Operation Northern Strike
With North Africa now in full control by EU forces, a new counter attack has been planned. The attack is to focus on taking back Europe form the PAC invaders. The counter-attack starts at the Bridge at Remagen. 200 years to the day that US forces crossed the bridge to invade Europe from Nazi Germany, so to does the EU forces on March 7th, 2145. Titans and battle walkers are brought to front. EU forces though have a new weapon that breaks the back of the PAC garrision, the Goliath. EU forces continue to gain an Eastern stronghold.
Needing to further weaken the PAC Titan systems, the EU decides to attack a Titan supply base once held by the EU before having to abandon it two years earlier. The EU sends forces to Port Bavaria high in the Alps. Once again the Goliaths are brought in; however, they are held at bay by the new and fast Hachimoto. Titans are brought in to help with supplies and infrantry support. Support Pods rain into the port from both Titans and APCs. Fighting is fierce and so close that hand to hand combat is common.
By the late summer of 2145, EU forces have regained most of western Europe. EU forces, still feeling the Fall Of Berlin almost three years ago, decide to regain Germany. EU forces decide to do a night operation into Leipzig. The Arctic winter being so close, most of the city is already frozen in place. This is the last stronghold for PAC forces in Europe. If EU forces win, the entire Cold War will have been for nothing. Both sides have already lost much and lack of resources and bitter cold has wiped out most of everything.
