Hey readers very exciting news today how Robert Bowling has just announced a new perk for multiplayer! It's called 'Akimbo' and it allows you to hold two side arms at the same time - including the Desert Eagle.

We originally got the heads up about this when Bowling Twittered this:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_on9BwIAr8zo/SpOysEEJ__I/AAAAAAAAAn8/Ygti0ZEOv2w/s400/Akimbo.JPG
Modern Warfare 2 Dual Wielded Pistols!

This left us puzzled asking questions like, "was he playing on screen?" and "dual-wield Deagles?"
Looking further into this Akimbo generally means when your hands are on your hips with your elbows sticking out. Just like the picture to the left. Therefore if this is a new perk, then it can only mean one thing - dual wielded pistols! Very similar to how a cowboy would stand and shoot his two side arms in old Western films.

Clarification for this came Robert Bowling wrote a few posts on the official Infinity Ward forums:

Quote
"I was presenting a singleplayer mission at the GameCrazy » show this morning on stage and happened to walk over a body that had Akimbo (dual wield side arm), therefore the icon for the weapon popped up on screen and the room went crazy with chants demanding I pick it up and use it.
So I did. "

"Don't assume Akimbo is all about being solely "dual-deagle". It's useable with all Sidearms, some much more useful with Akimbo than deagles. We've greatly expanded every category of weapons, so your "side arm" category is much more than what you're use to in COD4. [..]"

"Perfect example. Riot Shield + Akimbo Sidearms is awesome for a defensive playstyle. (i.e. covering someone planting a bomb in S&D)."

This then obviously clarifies everything up. Also reading the last quote where he says Riot Shield + Akimbo Sidearms. Therefore this means they're in different perk classes. We at modernwarfarenews.com believe that Riot-Shields will be perk 1, with Akimbo being in perk 3 as it's kind of similar to steady-aim (hip fire.) Please let us know what you think in the comments section below.

I'll definatly be running dual deagles...that's the only way to do it!  HEADSHOTS!  Anyways, that will make knifing interesting...wonder how they'll do that...I mean will he have to holster one of his pistols, draw his knife and then cut somebody?  Seems like that would be way too slow to be any fun...we shall see...

I hope I get my vacation time off.  I will be playing this game non stop.

Schlup says I will get bored, but I won't.

You will if you do nothing but play this game for a week straight without doing anything else beside sleep.  Besides that, I am taking the month of December off to play this game!
