Hey readers Modern Warfare 2 Community Manager Robert Bowling just 'Tweeted' how he was about to do a Special Ops hands-on at this GameCrazy event. He also posted a link to a picture in the Twitter feed which is a screenshot of the Special Ops menu. Check it out below:

It looks likely to be the Special Ops online lobby screen which obviously clarifies the use of online co-op. Secondly the game is being played on Xbox 360 and there seems to be a level called 'Breach and Clear.' Could this be like a game mode or even a specialised co-op story mission?

My next point is in the bottom right corner the yellow text reads: "You have not unlocked this op and will not receive any stars for completing it" Therefore you must earn stars which unlocks you missions, similar to XP.

Penultimately there is a difficulty setting and look as if each player can have their own individual difficulty. As on the right hand side above the controller you can see 'regular' above each player's name.

Finally the figure in the 'Breach and Clear' picture preview does look as if he is hiding being cover. Could Modern Warfare 2 be taking a chapter out of Rainbow 6 Vegas and Quantom of Solace's book by having the camera go into 3rd person when your behind cover? Please let us know what you think in the comments section below.

UPDATE:
Bowling just released another Tweet saying:
"Doing Back2back Spec Ops. Taking on a few challengers who talk smack. Veteran difficulty, max kills win."

He also did a link to this picture. Thanks 'Matt' for the heads up!

In Game Informer Magazine they talked about Spec Op mode. Spec Op will be Co-op, but it is not part of the story line. You will be in different "SWAT" scenarios and have to fight against a mob of inmates or terrorists, etc.

Yeah, I think it'll be pretty fun...little disappointed you can only do it with 2 players instead of 4 which we are now used to.  It'll still be fun though!
