ok out with the amd junk in comes intel bring it on games also my ssd's and the new cpu waterblock looks great on this mobo i must say i will post vid after i get my CORSAIR DOMINATOR 12GB (6 x 2GB) ram
so its a i7 950

OK with ppu off so its ranked http://3dmark.com/3dmv/2768282with ppu on cant rank score unfair to ati users cuz nvidia have phys x which makes the CPU score way higher as u can see lol nvidia for the win http://3dmark.com/3dmv/2767867im still working on ocing it further so I'm sure my scores will be higher |

It's not about the temps all that much, it's about making sure the thermal paste has time to setup and cure out. It's also about breaking in the CPU, it's like a car engine. When you get a new car or new car engine you don't slam it full throttle 24/7 as soon as you get it, you break it in before you slam it full throttle so it lasts longer and reduces the probability of something breaking or having issues sooner than later. |

Thermal paste does have to set and cure (especially arctic silver) and changes efficiency over time, but a CPU has no mechanical parts/tolerances or chemical qualities, its just a chunk of transistors. CPU's are tested pretty thoroughly at the factory, so its not like the first time its been turned on is when you put it in your mobo.
