New Feature: Additional profile options

Well I've been working for about the past week on this and finally got it finished off this evening.  There are now profile links to just about everything you could want (or that I could think of).  Here's a list of profile options just added and now available.

Steam Profile
Steam Clan Page
GameTracker Profile
GameTracker Clan Page
Xfire Profile
Xfire Clan page
Xbox Live Gamer Tag Link
PlayStation Network ID Link
3DMark Personal High Score Profile Page
Battlefield 2 Stats
Battlefield 2142 Stats
Battlefield Bad Company 2 Stats (setup but EA doesn't have their stats site running yet, will work upon launch of it)

Setup: It's quite easy, click on "User CP" at the top bar here, then click on "Profile" (top right icon), scroll down and you'll see all of them!

Now there are little icons for each one that should be pretty self explainitory, but this list is not locked either, if somebody can think of something they would like to be able to link that is widely used we can add it too!  I've setup all mine and have all one but of them (No PS3) you can see what I'm talking about by looking here...

Edit: Fixed it, you should now have access to it.  I was also able to allow advanced permissions by post count so if people are active and post alot they can earn access to different areas.

Well, I think I have finally set up everything that is possible at this point.

I added the following information to my profile today:
- Steam Profile
- Steam Clan Page
- GameTracker Profile
- GameTracker Clan Page
- Xfire Profile
- Xfire Clan page

I still have to install the GameTracker software but the account is ready.

I have been using Xfire for around 2 months and like the ability to take screenshots while playing a game.

The only one left that I could do is the 3DMark. I will probably set this up in the next month.

I don't use the GameTracker software...I don't know that anybody does it pretty well does exactly what Xfire does but not as good IMO.  You don't need the software to be tracked by the games.

Yeah definitely keep the account, if you go into your profile you can link your player name in servers to your profile to keep track of everything.  Although if you're not playing on many servers (aka IWNET with MW2) then it won't work.

How about a folding team icon?

Attached is a folding icon in the same size/format as the others.

It can link to either the team page or the individual's page.

This is a good idea, I will implement it, but first please make me a couple icons like that.  One that has "USER" printed at the bottom, and one that has "TEAM" printed at the bottom.  That way we can link to both the user and the team.

Also, in other news I updated the Bad Company 2 stats stuff last night.  It links correctly now...I still need a logo for it as I am using the Battlefield 2 icon for it right now.

How are you adding the text to the icons (PhotoShop, MS Paint, etc)?

What font is the text in?

I didn't add it...got the icons from a friend's site.  Don't know what the font is, don't know what it matters...just make something up with the text I guess.

By the way, is there someway to limit the number of icons in a single row?

Some of our profiles have a large amount of icons and it makes the left column rather wide.

Could one row be limited to say '10' icons before breaking off into the next row?

It's all based on how wide your browser window is, it's static width so the number of icons goes up or down per row based on the amount of screen real estate that it's given.  Like I have my window setup about the width of a 1280x1024 resolution and so I see 9 icons, it you have narrower screen you will see less than that, if you have wider you will see more.

Well, I am not very creative so I gave it a shot at making some small icons.

Attached are icons for Folding, Folding -Team, TWL, and TWL - Team.

I would keep the user versions clean (like GameTracker and X-fire). I added the word "TEAM" to the team versions.

My son had to help me with Adobe PhotoShop. I just couldn't figure out how to make a transparent background.

Let me know if these are acceptable.

Also, in other news I updated the Bad Company 2 stats stuff last night.  It links correctly now...I still need a logo for it as I am using the Battlefield 2 icon for it right now.

I went ahead and modified the BF2 logo to read BC2 for Bad Company 2. This could be used temporarily until a more suitable icon can be found/created.

Thanks for that too Navy, I thought it looked a little too much like the Battlefield 2 logo so I decided to try my hand at it.  I'm not sure I like it because it's kinda blurry but it's different enough I guess.  Maybe someone can make a higher resolution one...

Another suggestion:
In a profile there is a section with ICQ, AIM, MSN, and YIM. Some people still use these while some are shifting towards the popular Facebook and Twitter for communicating with friends/family.

Have you considered adding these two to the profile area?

If so, attached are some 19x19 icons for these, as well as a more detailed Internet (globe) icon.

Dang, you are making me work!  No, JK, I'll implement the Twitter & Facebook, I can't edit the logo for website...or easily for that matter.  Website isn't a custom profile field that I created.

Great website though, many good icon sets...it thinks I am a bot for some reason though and every page it keeps making me type in captcha's which is VERY annoying!

Larger, it looks great but when the limit is 20x20 you lose alot of detail.
